The atmosphere at Silver Glen is truly magical. It is a charming historic barn that has three very unique spaces 1. The Main Hall, 2. The George Room and 3. The Café and Outside Deck. Selecting SilverGlen is a great choice for those looking for a full service facility, comfortable and inspiring atmosphere, superior flexibility and great value.
The Main Hall
The Main Hall has 40 foot ceilings, exposed wooden construction, two lofts and gallery displays. The acoustics are naturally fantastic. This space is an excellent venue for the performing and visual arts. It is also a wonderful space for a large party or conference. The seating capacity is 100 guests on the main floor level.
The George Room
The George room is a charming space with 9 ft ceilings, walls of old barn wood, and antique windows facing south west. The acoustics are also very good. This is a cozy place for smaller parties and conferences with a seating capacity for 80 guests.
The Harbour View Cafe and Outside Deck
The Café has a southern exposure overlooking Antigonish Harbour. The atmosphere is fresh, bright and comfortable. The seating capacity inside is 25 and 30+ on the outside deck.
Silver Glen Gardens
The grounds surrounding the Silver Glen Centre are beautiful. There are several themed gardens including Roses and Rocks, Kitchen and Herbs, Perennials and Shrubs, and our very special Celtic Circle of carved limestone “stones”. These “stones” were carved with celtic symbols by Michele de Noncourt, a local artist. This garden has been the stage for Shakespeare and is often the backdrop for wedding pictures. It is always a pleasure to stroll the gardens and enjoy the view.
